Barn Beams + Digital Fabrication = Current Bench

Gensler’s Marc Teer discusses the design and fabrication of a sculptural bench for the lobby of Panduit’s highly sustainable new headquarters in Tinley Park, IL. Using file-to-fabrication digital technology, the team repurposed barn beams from the early 1900’s to create a contemporary, organic sculpture that is inspired by the idea of transformation.
